Niren has over 15 years of cyber-security experience ranging from traditional network-based security products such has firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, NAC, SWG and IVS/EVS to modern threat management solutions such as vulnerability and threat hunting solutions, penetration testing and highly scalable SIEM-like solutions. Fun fact: he ran his first security scan in 1995.

Prior to this, Niren worked as VP of Product Engineering at Trustwave (a cybersecurity leader) from 2007 thru 2017 where he held responsibility for their Managed Threat Platform along with various other highly scalable security products such as the Common Asset Analytics and the Trustwave "data lake". He also has held various highly technical senior architect and software development roles.

Niren also has extensive experience in customer/vendor board management and has been on the Customer Advisory Board for Hortonworks (a leading Hadoop vendor) since inception. He also has deep expertise in building Hadoop and cloud/SaaS based products. He has numerous patents in highly performance software designs. Niren is regularly involved in M&A activities from both sides (acquiring vs. being acquired) and thus has extensive experience in the due-diligence that would be required.

A technologist at heart, Niren codes and architects solutions on a regular basis in modern technologies. When not coding, he can be found speaking at various cybersecurity or big data conferences, playing a few games of table tennis or enjoying a glass of a good Napa cabernet with his friends.
